Edited Volume on Procurement coming soon

An article (co-authored with Sandra Groeneveld, Ben Kuipers and Bram Steijn) on sustainable procurement which was published in the April-June edition of 2013 of the Rivista di Politica Economica is accepted for reprint in an edited volume of Palgrave MacMillan.

The chapter will be titled: “Sustainable Procurement in Practice: Explaining the Degree of Sustainable Procurement from an Organisational Perspective”. It will be part of the upcoming edited volume by Palgrave MacMillan titled ‘Public Procurement’s Place in the World’ and is edited by Gustavo Piga, Francesco Decarolis and Marco Frey.

The edited volume will appear in August and can soon be ordered from Palgrave Macmillan here: http://www.palgrave.com/page/detail/public-procurement%E2%80%99s-place-in-the-world-gustavo-piga/?k=9781137430632

The chapter examines if and how three organisational factors – top management support, expertise and commitment – influence the degree of sustainable procurement in procurement projects in the Dutch national government. The article concludes that not only organizational factors (especially commitment) but also the actions of individual actors are important for the degree of sustainable procurement.

More information about the edited volume can be found in the flyer: Public Procurement’s Place in the World
